FAQ.
Are helmets mandatory?
Yes. A full-face ISI / DOT / ECE certified helmet is mandatory for both the rider and any pillion on every Volcastay Bike Club ride. No helmet, no ride.
What are the safety rules?
Stay in formation, no overtaking the lead rider, headlights on at all times, hand signals at every turn, mandatory hydration stops, and no riding under the influence — ever.
What is the refund policy?
Full refund (minus 10% admin fee) up to 30 days before ride start. 50% refund up to 14 days before. No refunds after that, but seats are transferable to another approved member.
Who is eligible?
Anyone 18+ with a valid Indian motorcycle license, at least one full riding season of experience, and a roadworthy machine. Some Himalayan rides require additional experience clearance.
Is insurance required?
Yes — comprehensive vehicle insurance is mandatory. We strongly recommend a personal accident / travel insurance policy that covers high-altitude motorcycling.
Can I bring a pillion?
On most rides yes, on high-altitude expeditions (Ladakh, Spiti, Tawang) only with prior captain approval.
