Meet your host
From a single Airbnb room to a hand-picked collection across India.
I'm Shuchim Gupta, born on 25 August 1987, and I'm delighted to welcome you to the world of Volcastay. My journey into hospitality is a tale of passion, dedication and a love for creating memorable experiences.
Background. I trained in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and earned a BA from Delhi University. For over 11 years I worked on multiple aircraft — culminating in my role as Aircraft Maintenance Engineer on the AIRBUS 320 with Interglobe Aviation (IndiGo Airlines). The turning point came during COVID-19 in 2020.
Transition. In pursuit of a new challenge, I pivoted into hospitality — armed with an MBA in Marketing from Chandigarh University. The journey began humbly: hosting a single room on Airbnb in my own home.
Recognition. In October 2022 I was honoured to be featured on MakeMyTrip as a "Best Host". That spurred us to expand — today Volcastay proudly hosts a curated collection of homestays, farmstays and unique stays across India.
